We have quite the collection of animals on our farm, and while I love each and every one of them, I have to admit—my sheep are my absolute favorite (shh, don’t tell the cows!). You’ll get to meet each one of our farm residents over time, but today, I want to introduce you to a very special girl: Shadow!

Shadow was born on Groundhog Day 2024, and we just celebrated her very first birthday! She is an American Wagyu cross and let me tell you—she is hands down the sweetest heifer we own. From the day we brought her home, she’s had a calm and friendly nature, always ready for a good scratch or an extra treat.

Raising cattle has its ups and downs, but Shadow is one of those animals that make it all worth it. There is something so special about watching her grow, develop her own quirks, and settle into her place in the herd.

I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Shadow, especially when she starts giving us some beautiful calves to love on. She’s already such a special part of the farm, and I know she’ll make an amazing mama someday.

Life on the farm is always an adventure, and each animal adds their own unique charm to it. Shadow is just one of many stories I have to share, and I can’t wait to introduce you to the rest of our four-legged (and sometimes feathered) friends.
