Today is the day I’ve been eagerly anticipating all week—and trust me, the excitement on the farm is off the charts! I’m over the moon to introduce you to Rolla, our very first lamb and the undeniable matriarch of our flock. If you haven’t met her yet, buckle up: this one-day-old bottle baby stole our hearts at first sight!

Rolla is a proud katahdin ewe (in case you’re not familiar, that means she’s part of our fabulous hair breed raised for meat). From the moment she trotted into our lives, she’s been the life of the party. Not only is she cute as a button, but she’s also a phenomenal mom. Over the last three years, Rolla has blessed us with a total of 7 babies—and this year, she surprised us with triplets! Clearly, she believes in quality over quantity… well, maybe not, because she sure doesn’t hold back!

I have to say it: Rolla is my all-time favorite—if you can even have one of those on your farm! Her personality is larger than life. She knows her name like the back of her hoof! When I holler “Rolla!” (especially during those late night feedings), she never fails to answer, as if saying, “I’m here for head scratches, hugs, and, oh yes, that delicious sweet feed!” I can always count on her to lead the herd back to the barn, turning what could be a sleepy routine into a hilarious, heartwarming event.
Every day with Rolla is a reminder that life on the farm is anything but ordinary. Her sassy charm and unbridled appetite make even the quietest nights feel like a celebration. Rolla isn’t just a sheep; she’s our feather in the cap (or should I say hair?)—the lively matriarch who shows us that a little fun and a lot of love can make every moment count.

Thanks for joining me on this little glimpse into our world. Stay tuned for more farmyard adventures featuring our favorite katahdin superstar—and don’t be surprised if Rolla makes another cameo soon!
