The car is loaded and we’re hitting the road—muck boots and all! Fe and I are off to Oklahoma for Cowgirl Confident, where we’ll be meeting up with one of my high school friends for a weekend full of inspiration, learning, and probably a few laughs we’ll never live down.
This isn’t just a break—it’s a barn-working, hands-on, get-your-hands-dirty kind of getaway! Fe is beyond excited because she’ll get to pull a simulation calf (yes, really!), learn how to draw blood, give shots, and even pregnancy test a cow. It’s basically a mini vet camp, and with her wanting to become a vet, it couldn’t be more perfect. Who says you can’t be confident and covered in farm dust?
After the event, we’re driving a bit farther south so Fe can hang out with her BFF (because bestie time is non-negotiable), then we’ll spend the weekend in Tulsa catching up with family and friends. It’s a quick escape before the garden kicks into overdrive and the animals launch their springtime shenanigans.
Back at the farm, things are mostly under control… I left strict instructions, but let’s be honest, the goats are probably already ignoring them, the ducks are planning a coup, and someone (probably a chicken) will end up somewhere they absolutely shouldn’t be.
We’ll be back next week—recharged, re-inspired, and ready to tackle planting, weeding, and whatever mess we come home to. Stay tuned for the post-trip recap… featuring photos, stories, and possibly a garden bed turned into a duck spa.
